AMI at Kenya’s SDGs launch

Nairobi, August 2016 – The African Media Initiative is among a number of key stakeholders expected at the Kenya government’s launch of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals on September 14, 2016.

The launch, to be presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta, will bring together all top national and county government officials, development partners, representatives of foreign governments, faith-based and civil society organizations, academia and research institutions, among a host of other groups.

The SDGs consist of 17 issues broken down into 169 targets and 231 indicators for ease of implementation of a 15-year period. Among other things, they aim to eradicate poverty, conserve the planet and ensure peaceful societies.
