“Africa Check” Announces the Second Fact-Checking Awards and Calls for Entries
A call for entries to the second Africa Check awards for fact-checking in African media was made today by award sponsors, AFP Foundation and Africa Check. The deadline for entries, which should be in English or French, is August 31, 2015.
The awards ceremony will be hosted by the African Media Initiative (AMI) during its seventh African Media Leaders Forum (AMLF), scheduled to take place at the Birchwood Conference Center in Johannesburg from November 11 – 13, 2015.
Announcing the awards, Africa Check Director Peter Cunliffe-Jones pointed out that the awards will be accompanied by a cash prize of US$2,000 for the winning entry and US$1,000 for the two runners up.
